Applying patches
If you need to patch an installed vRealize Suite product, you can use the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager APIs. You apply patches to correct issues with a product or to upgrade a product to a newer version.
You can apply the following types of patches:
- Product patches. Patch vRealize Suite products.
- Product Support Pack (PS Pack) patches. Patch to support a new release of a vRealize Suite product that was installed using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
- System patches. Patch vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
Product | Product ID |
---|---|
vRealize Operations Manager | vrops |
vRealize Log Insight | vrli |
vRealize Business for Cloud | vrbc |
vRealize Automation | vra |
VMware Identity Manager | vidm |
vRealize Network Insight | vrni |
The patching process involves downloading or importing the patch into vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager and applying it to the installed product. For most vRealize Suite products, you can install patches directly on the product or apply the patch using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager. For vRealize Automation, you must use vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager to apply a patch.
All patches are available from the Content Delivery Network (CDN). If you can access the CDN, you can download patch files directly to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager. If you are on a VPN with restricted network access, you can log in to the My VMware portal to manually download patch files to your local drive and then import them to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
