To make a virtual machine from the underlying vSphere infrastructure available to your vCloud Director server, you can import it and save it as a vApp.

Procedure
1 | Retrieve the vSphere virtual machine that you want to import. $myVm = Get-VM -Name 'MyVMToImport'

2 | Retrieve the organization vDC to which you want to import the virtual machine. $myOrgVdc = Get-OrgVdc -Name 'MyOrgVdc'

3 | Import the virtual machine and store it as a vApp. Import-CIVapp -VM $myVm -OrgVdc $myOrgVdc
