Option Subnegotiation

The VMWARE-TELNET-EXT telnet option requires various suboptions to support remote serial port access. The virtual machine and proxy use subnegotiation to indicate the command sets that they can support. Subnegotiation identifies all commands for negotiation as well as commands for proxy support, vMotion notification, and virtual machine identification. Option Subnegotiation lists the commands for option subnegotiation.

KNOWN-SUBOPTIONS-1 suboptions A virtual machine notification that indicates the VMWARE-TELNET-EXT suboptions that it can generate and accept. suboptions is a sequence of one or more codes, each of which corresponds to a VMware telnet extension command. If the virtual machine sends this message more than once during a session, the list of suboptions is always the same. KNOWN-SUBOPTIONS-2 suboptions A proxy response that indicates the VMWARE-TELNET-EXT suboptions that it can generate and accept. suboptions is a sequence of one or more codes, each of which corresponds to a VMware telnet extension command. The proxy must support this command.
