Do you see any entry in the "News" section in the Home page? If not, do the following:
- Click on the menu Window > Show View > Other... > General > Internal Web Browser. Enter a public URL, such as http://www.vmware.com.
- If you cannot see the page:
- make sure that the virtual machine that is running VMware Workbench has a virtual network enabled and connected. Settings depend on the virtual platform
you are using (vSphere, VMware Workstation, Fusion). Please check the virtual platform's manual.
- Make sure the network service on the VMware Workbench appliance is active. Open a terminal and type "service network restart".
- Make sure your proxy settings are correct. See "First time user?" above.
If you see the News content, but you still see an error in the SDK, vCG, Certification panels, etc., enter the following
URL
https://vdc-repo.vmware.com/api in the Internal Web Browser's address bar.
Do you see one line with a time stamp? If no, make sure your IT organization allows
the machine running VMware Workbench to access the VMware server at the above URL.
This may require your IT organization to reconfigure your company's firewall.
