vcenter services service: stop

Stops a service. This operation was added in vSphere API 6.7.

Request:

POST https://{server}/rest/vcenter/services/{service}/stop

Path Parameters

service string identifier of the service to stop.

Response:

HTTP Status Code: 200

None

Errors:

HTTP Status Code Type Description
404 not_found if the service associated with service does not exist.
500 error if any other error occurs during the execution of the operation.
400 not_allowed_in_current_state if the operation is denied in the current state of the service. If a stop operation is in progress, issuing another stop operation will lead to this error.
